Twenty-four finalists in eight categories were announced this morning by organizers of the inaugural American Legal Technology Awards, a new round of awards that will honor companies and individuals who are making a difference in law through technology innovation.
As I reported here in June, this is the first year of these awards, which were originally slated to be presented during a virtual event in August. Now, the organizers say they will announce the winner in each category in a series of nightly events that will occur from Sept. 7 to Sept. 16, with one winner being announced each night, and the two final nights, Sept. 15 and 16, being held as live events.

Based on over 180 submitted nominations, three finalists were named in each of the eight award categories. They are:

The awards are the creation of three individuals who want to shine a light on the innovators who are moving the needle in law: Tom Martin, founder of LawDroid; Patrick Palace, founder of Palace Law in Tacoma, Wash.; and Caitlin Moon, director of innovation design for the Program on Law and Innovation at Vanderbilt Law School.
