Over the past month or so, three separate resources have launched, all devoted to serving as a marketplace directory for legal technology products.
In short order came the Legaltech Hub, a website aiming to be the world’s most complete directory of commercial legal tech; The Observatory, a creation of the law firm Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe that is a directory of more than 600 legal tech products; and the Thomson Reuters Marketplace, an online store where users can try and buy legal tech products and services.
All of these follow the formal launch last January of Reynen Court, the platform that has been dubbed the app store of law.
What’s going on here? That is the question I examine in my column this week at Above the Law: Suddenly, A Multiplicity Of Legal Tech Marketplaces.
