For nearly a decade, since 2011, LexisNexis has had the exclusive license to archived legal journalism from all ALM Media publications and websites, which include Law.com, The American Lawyer, Corporate Counsel, The National Law Journal, Legaltech News, and a variety of regional and specialty publications.

But last Friday, Jean O’Grady at Dewey B Strategic blog broke the news that ALM had ended its exclusive relationship with LexisNexis, signing a new deal that allowed LexisNexis continued use of the content while allowing ALM to license it to other companies.

Today brings news of the first beneficiary of that new deal, as Bloomberg Law announces a deal with ALM that will give customers of its research service access to all the ALM legal news and information.

Bloomberg says the deal will include more than 3,000 new pieces of original news reporting each month, archived news content, and data from ALM Experts and VerdictSearch.

Within the Bloomberg Law platform, ALM’s news content will be available alongside reporting from Bloomberg Law’s newsroom of more than 200 journalists working out of locations in key markets around the country and across the globe.

The deal also includes access to ALM Experts, a database of over 15,000 listings of expert witnesses, investigators, process servers, court reporters, consultants and litigation support professionals from every region of the United States, and content from ALM’s VerdictSearch, including over 200,000 national and state cases.

Consistent with Bloomberg Law’s one-price subscription model, all current subscribers will receive access to ALM content at no additional cost.
