If you are one of the 3,300 people currently attending ILTACON in Orlando, here is the most important thing you need to know that no one has yet told you: Fail to return your name badge when the conference ends and you will be fined $50.
ILTACON is the annual conference of the International Legal Technology Association. This year, the conference is using Klik SmartBadges, a name badge that includes a button you can click to share your contact information with others.
It is a clever idea, even if it is not yet clear how attendees can then get that contact information out of the conference app.
But what has not been made clear to attendees is that they must return the name badge at the end of the conference.
If they do not, they will be fined $50.
ILTA staff say there will be baskets placed in various locations around the conference later this week for attendees to drop off their badges.
But if you are rushing off to the airport, make sure you remember to drop off your badge, or else it will cost you.
