The International Legal Technology Association said yesterday that its international legal technology events will go forward as planned, even as the association closely monitors developments concerning COVID-19.
“As our ILTA event season begins, we are closely monitoring COVID-19 (aka coronavirus) updates, including reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), U.S. Department of State, and World Health Organization (WHO),” ILTA said in a statement.
“In addition, our team is regularly exchanging information with our peers in the events and association spaces about their thoughts and plans. To ensure our members, sponsors, and the legal community at large are supported throughout this period of global focus on COVID-19.”
For now, ILTA said it will proceed with the following events occurring as planned:
- ILTACON – South America (March 26-27).
- ILTAVATION – Argentina (March 30).
- LegalSec Summit – Marriott Rivercenter, San Antonio, TX (June 15-17).
- ILTACON – Gaylord Opryland, Nashville, TN (August 23-27).
- ILTACON Europe – etc Venues, London, UK (November 18-19).
With regard to the many local meetings, roadshows, and social events ILTA sponsors in cities throughout the world, ILTA said it will make decisions on those closer to each activity’s date and based on guidance from local authorities.
Tomorrow, ILTA will host a webinar, “Ripped from the Headlines — Security in the COVID-19 World,” that will discuss the legal community’s response to COVID-19. Scheduled for noon Eastern time, the webinar is free for ILTA members.
